Youth Leadership Certification Program

Pony Wedding

Our Youth Leadership Certification Program gives youth, aged 13 (turning 14 within the camp year) - 16, an opportunity to learn how to be a mentor to our summer campers. Participants will have a skills checklist that must be signed off by their supervisor:

  • Communication skills: learn how to effectively communicate instruction to campers in a lesson setting

  • Leadership skills: handling horses

  • Creativity: create an arts and crafts activity and execute it with the help of supervisor

  • Caring for others: Survey campers’ needs by learning how to care for younger campers: sunscreen, water, break times

  • Self Confidence: Independently teach a stable management lesson

Throughout the program, youth will gain an understanding of what it takes to be a leader and self-confidence. Once the program is complete, and all skills have been accomplished, participants will receive a certificate of leadership.
